I read some reviews and a Motorola S305 headset looked like a great purchase, so off to ebay I went to buy one. They’re the same price on amazon.com, but I had a few $ left on a gift card for ebay.


New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original packaging (where packaging is applicable). Packaging should be the same as what is found in a retail store, unless the item is handmade or was packaged by the manufacturer in non-retail packaging, such as an unprinted box or plastic bag. I’ve had pretty good luck buying things on eBay before, listed as new in original packaging, price is similar to other places, seems legit.

When it arrives, it’s clearly not in retail packaging, but I can let that slide… bulk packaging isn’t always a bad thing. Until I look more closely at the unit. It’s clearly used. It’s dirty, the shiny part is peeling from someone else’s sweat, and the side has a mark where the plastic is melted, like cigarette ash would do. I charged it up and they don’t even work. It flaked out when I tried to sync it to my iPhone. Eventually it connected, but it’s flaky at best. Unacceptable.

Neither of those headsets support the AVRCP or A2DP profiles. I bought the S305 to use as bluetooth headphones.
