Yahoo failed customer service on this issue. I pay for Yahoo Mail Plus so I can POP mail into my gmail account. I was quite happy to pay $20 per year to keep using one of my oldest email addresses. Lately I’ve noticed my yahoo account was only pulling mail into gmail once or twice a day.
If I were to write a review of yahoo mail plus, I think it’s fair to say yahoo sucks. I’d even go so far as to say yahoo mail plus is a ripoff. I feel yahoo mail plus is a scam where they take your money without providing what you paid for. Something here is clearly broken. The terrible customer service is the final insult. I feel yahoo is pulling a con and cheating their customers. I will not let them steal my user fees again.

The following chat ended March 7 2012 at 5:00 PM. I was supposed to receive an answer through email within 24 hours. It has been more than 48 hours and I still have not received a response.
Some searching shows this problem isn’t an isolated incident.
From what I’ve been reading, I suspect error 999 from yahoo is a catch-all when something goes weird or wrong or triggers some anti-ddos system or something.
This is no way to treat a paying customer. I just want an answer. I’ve included the chat I had with yahoo mail support
